The Power of Proficiency: Teaching with the Three Modes of Communication

This self-paced course introduces world language educators to ACTFL’s Three Modes of Communication—Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational. Through practical strategies, authentic examples, and ready-to-use templates, participants will learn to design mode-aligned tasks that build real-world proficiency and engage students in meaningful communication. Additionally, participants will learn how to give proficiency-based feedback in each mode to further support students on their path to proficiency in the language classroom.
